Light Tracer Render 2.9.1
We are pleased to announce that the latest version of Light Tracer Render has received the 2.9.1 update. It brings additional improvements and fixes for some discovered bugs. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the most important changes below.
Support of “negative emitters”
We've received many requests to add "negative" light sources that can be drawn over the environment map. Their "brightness" should be subtracted from the brightness of the map to remove unwanted emissive areas. This feature is included in the latest update:
You need to create a light source and set the switch to Negative. In this mode, you can still set the color and Radiance of the light source. They determine the color and radiance that will be subtracted from the radiance of the map.
Improved color grading
Another useful new feature is the ability to apply color grading to the backplate image and render separately. The corresponding switch has been added to the Tone mapping section of the Settings widget:
When the All mode is selected, the color grading settings are applied to the entire image as before. In the Render mode, they are applied the rendering only, and in the Backplate mode they are applied to the background image only.
Combining mesh parts
A useful feature has been added to merge multiple parts into a single object (a single mesh). The corresponding item has been added to the Process mesh submenu:
Of course, there were also some bug fixes and other minor UX improvements. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this update and new ideas for future releases.
